Joan Skogsberg Sanders is month of June 2007 guest artist. Her images are based on enigmatic reminiscences and evoke the strong religious thread that binds Morocco together. She also incorporates the country's traditions of mysticism - magic, spirits, "the evil eye." The paintings derive emotional content not only from Sanders' vivid recollections but also through the reworking and combining of juxtaposed images.

The East Village Arts District is more than a physical place, it’s a living environment, a village complete with art galleries, art related businesses, art supply stores, artist live/work spaces as well as great restaurants, cool coffee houses, night hot spots and every kind of amenity for the art loving resident.
